Hello everyone,
Roses and Rivets is beginning our new 2022-23 season! We are so grateful for your continued support and would love to keep you all updated on our progress throughout the year.
Firstly, let’s meet the team!
Julia Banuelos - Hardware Team Leader, Head of Recruitment
Sage Mosley - Hardware Team Member, Outreach Director
Annika Nilsson - Hardware Team Member, Head of Fundraising
Ava Grochowski - Hardware Team Member, Activities Leader
Elizabeth Wiesbrock - Software Team Leader, Treasurer
Anne Jumper - Software Team Member (CAD Specialist), Head of Branding
Isabel Szerdy - Software Team Member, Engineering Notebook Writer
Milo Castronovo - Software Team Member, Head of Communications
Since many of our team members are seniors this year and have a good amount of experience, we have many ambitious goals for competitions. We are going to enter two tournaments, one around December and one around February. The challenge for this year's tournaments has been released, and we’ve begun our design process and started planning out our strategies. The game mostly consists of moving cones onto a series of poles to score points. The challenge video is linked here if you’re interested in learning more!
We will also be focusing on recruitment, given that most of us will be graduating, and that we would love for Roses and Rivets to continue long into the future. There are multiple robotics teams at our local middle school and a coding club at our high school that we will connect with to hopefully find new members for future years.
On behalf of the team, I would like to thank you all again for your support throughout our seasons. If you have questions or would like to learn more, you can check out our website here, follow us on Instagram @rosesandrivets, or message me directly through our Instagram or this email address. I will try to update our Instagram weekly and send out newsletters monthly!
Thank you all again and best wishes!
Roses and Rivets, All-Girls Robotics Team,
Milo Lu Castronovo, Head of Communications
